RideTogether – Inclusive Surfing on the Baltic Sea
From September 5th to 7th, 2025, the Baltic beach in Warnemünde once again transformed into a lively meeting place at the Supremesurf Beachhouse right by the water. It was a weekend that thrilled surf enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike, and above all, it was inclusive and open to everyone.
What makes the RideTogether Festival so unique is its mission: surfing for people with and without disabilities – regardless of their prior experience or physical abilities. Thanks to specially adapted equipment, experienced coaches, and numerous volunteers, everyone was truly able to feel the magic of the Baltic waves. With the pathway panels from TRAIL-MATE, even wheelchair users could easily get across the sand to the water. Whether a novice or an aspiring surfer, young or old – everyone had the chance to stand on a surfboard and ride the waves.

The festival is a project of the organization Open Ocean e.V., which is dedicated to inclusive water sports experiences. Under the motto "Ride together – feel the wave together," the focus is not just on the sport, but above all on community, mutual support, and openness.
The RideTogether Festival offered much more than "just" surf lessons:
-
Inclusive surf workshops for all levels (Adaptive Surfing)
-
Panel discussions and talks on diversity & accessibility
-
Workshops, yoga sessions, and relaxation units right on the beach
-
Live music and film screenings for relaxed socializing
-
Networking & exchange with organizations from sports, inclusion, and culture
-
A small children's and family program provided additional variety.
-
The opportunity to test various aids – for example, the pathway panels from TRAIL-MATE
Especially cool: Participation was free for all visitors, made possible by the support of sponsors like Aktion Mensch and other partners.
The RideTogether Festival 2025 was an inspiring event that not only attracted surf enthusiasts but brought together people from all walks of life. The sea, sand, and sun provided the perfect backdrop for a weekend full of adventure, a sense of community, and friendship.

If you're interested in an inclusive festival experience that is about more than just sports, then RideTogether is an event you should mark on your calendar – for 2026 and the years to come! Check out Open Ocean e.V. – here you will find further information and dates.
