Mobile beach path for municipalities and beach operators
With TRAIL-MATE, municipalities, spa administrations, public beaches, campsites, and event organizers can make their beach wheelchair-accessible in just a few minutes. The robust path tiles are placed directly onto the sand, connected into a continuous path via Velcro fasteners, and secured in the sand using long ground pins. This creates a mobile beach access point for wheelchairs and strollers – and, thanks to a load capacity of up to 3.5 tons, for emergency vehicles as well.

Areas of Application
- Barrier-free beach access at the North and Baltic Seas, on islands, at swimming lakes, and at public beaches
- Emergency routes over sand for rescue services, DLRG, and water rescue teams
- Events and festivals: temporary paths over sand, grass, or snow
- Campsites, hotels, and holiday resorts with their own beach section

In use on islands and along the coast
TRAIL-MATE beach paths are already in use on Langeoog. During the Open Ocean e.V. Surf Festival in Warnemünde, we laid out a 70-meter-long path over the sand – it withstood strong winds of up to 35 knots – and we have already been deployed several times with mobile beach paths on the island of Föhr. We also regularly receive inquiries from municipalities and beach operators along the North Sea coast.

Two systems for every need
TRAIL-MATE CLASSIC – 90 × 90 cm, 2 kg per tile: the robust choice for long, permanently used beach paths and commercial applications.
TRAIL-MATE FLEX – 45 × 90 cm, 1 kg per tile: particularly lightweight, quickly assembled and disassembled, ideal for changing locations and events.
Bulk discounts for municipalities and businesses
For municipalities, tourism organizations, and commercial customers, we offer bulk discounts for larger quantities – even for long beach paths spanning several hundred meters. Let us know how long and wide you would like your path to be, and we will calculate the required number of tiles and provide you with an individual quote.
Tip: Many states and tourism associations support initiatives for accessible tourism. A mobile beach path is a cost-effective entry point for barrier-free beach access.
The modular alternative to sand mats
Classic sand mats are delivered as heavy rolls and can only be laid as a whole. TRAIL-MATE consists of individual, foldable tiles: the beach path can be laid out by one person, can be extended, relocated, or repaired at any time, and can support up to 3.5 tons – even as an emergency route.
Two CLASSIC tiles side-by-side create a path width of 1.80 m, meeting the passing width requirements for two wheelchairs according to DIN 18040. You can find more information about events, city festivals, and path widths according to DIN 18040 on our page Accessible Events & Urban Spaces.
